I needed yet another sympathy card. I made this card using similar colors and the technique that was used on one of the convention make&takes, but I did used more colors. Stamp set: Inspired by Nature, Hero Arts Sympathy; Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla; Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Tangerine Tango; Accessories: Pewter Hodgepodge, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon; Techniques: sponging ink on stamp, distressing.
I had never done this technique before convention. You use sponge daubers (here I just used a sponge) to ink up your image, it gives it a different look. The scan of this card does not give it justice, the flowers showed up a little bit more and looks a lot better in person. I used Kiwi Kiss ink on the grass and the flower stems then used some tangerine tango and so saffron on the flowers, kind of mixed it together.

Sympathy cards are so difficult to create, this one is lovely and I am sure will be much appreciated.

What a sweet card! I have gone to too many funerals of late and have been buying store bought cards (gasp!!). I may have to case this one.

Have a great Labor Day!
