Congratulations Crystal!!!!

Crystal is my blog candy winner! (Even though she was a fan of New Kids on the Block, ha ha). My daughter pulled your name out of her pumpkin from last Halloween! Crystal, just email me your snail mail and I'll get your goodies out sometime this week. I still don't know what it will be, but I'm sure you will be happy!

I had an awesome time at convention! It was just amazing. The first 2 days were a bit overwhelming. The amount of people, wow! I will share some of my memories, but right now I need to get caught up with life here at home!

I have some pictures to share, but blogger seems to be having technical difficulties!

August 2nd - Convention Day 4

*Note* This post was written on July 27th.

Well today is the last day of convention and tonight I get to go back in time to the 80s! part of the activities tonight are dressing up 80s style. I'll be wearing jeans with a hot pink tank top. Over the tank top I will wear an over sized men's shirt that I cut the collar out so that it could hang off my shoulder (think Flashdance) then one of those plastic round buckles to bunch up the shirt (not sure what that is called). Big gold hoop earrings, 20 jelly bracelets, blue eyeshadow and eyeliner, lip gloss, BIG HAIR and jelly shoes!!! If I have time, I'm also going to paint my nails and toe nails blue. I tried part of the outfit on before leaving and it is totally 80s! I might just post a picture when I get back =-)

Tomorrow I will be returning home to my wonderful supportive husband and beautiful little girl.

I'll leave you with another swap I took to convention: This one was a 12x12 layout swap I joined. I really like how it turned out, I hope the others like it too. Supplies: Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Cutie Pie DSP; Ink: Rose Red, Certainly Celery; Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment; Accessories: Certainly Celery Brads; Tools: Scallop Circle Punch; 1 3/8 Circle Punch.

Do not forget to comment on my post from August 1st for Blog Candy!

*Note* This post was written on July 27th.

Today I will be learning more and doing another Make & Take! Yay.

Here is another one of my general swaps. Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa is my favorite color combination. I used these in a few of my swaps!

Supplies: Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White; Ink: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa; Accessories: Vintage Brads, Tissue Paper; Tools: Paper Crimper, Anywhere Glue Stick; Stamps: Always; Techniques: Faux Silk.

OK it is finally time for some Blog Candy!

How to win:

I've been thinking of the 80s a lot lately, because of the party I will be attending tomorrow night, so in keeping with that spirit and Stampin' Up!'s 20th anniversary, I want you to think back to the 80s and tell me what your favorite part was and what you miss the most. It could be a memory, favorite movie, song, style anything from the 80s. Just comment on this post sometime between now and midnight (EST) Sunday, August 3, 2008. I will pick a winner on Monday, August 4th.

I do not know what will be included yet in the Blog Candy, but I know it will include For a Friend stamp set among other things.

Thursday, July 31st - Convention, Day 2

*Note* This post was written on July 27th

Today is the actual start of the convention! I will learn lots of stuff, do some make & takes, meet new people and have fun! (Since I've never actually been to convention before, I don't really know what will happen, I just have a schedule!)
Here is one of the swaps I made for general swapping:

Supplies: Cardstock: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango; Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango; Accessories: dimensionals; Stamps: Wild About You. I have to apologize for the off centered picture. I scanned all my swaps in and didn't really look closely at the scan until now and they are already packed! This turned out to be a very colorful card and I really liked it. I am liking the new In Colors ALOT!!!

Remember...BLOG CANDY IS COMING!

Wednesday, July 30th - Check In Day

*Note* This post was written on July 27th.

If all went well I arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah yesterday! Today is check-in day. Activities for the day include: Swapping, picking up our convention bag (including the new catalog!!), swapping, shopping at memento mall, swapping, touring Stampin' Up!'s facility, did I mention swapping? Today I also get to meet some ladies I have been talking with for a few months on a thread at SCS called Swappers Anonymous (SA). We decided that we needed a swap all to ourselves, so we will be meeting this evening to swap!

Here is the swap I made for my SA swap. I needed to be a fancy fold card, using all current Stampin' Up! supplies. Supplies: Cardstock: Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Cutie Pie DSP; Ink: Rose Red, Certainly Celery; Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Doodle This; Accessories: Hemp Twine, Black Brads, Bashful Blue Brads, Tag Corner Punch. The directions for this card can be found on SCS here, it is called a Flap Fold Card. I don't have a coluzzle, so I just used my tag corner punch on the corners and I couldn't find any of the snap closures, so I used to brads with the hemp twine to hold it together. I thought it turned out cute!

Be sure to keep checking back...blog candy is coming!

Where has the time gone? - AND BLOG CANDY ALERT!

Wow! I can't believe it has been almost 3 weeks since my last post! Sheesh! All I can say is, it is summer, I leave for convention in 2 days and we had some unexpected family emergencies. In my "free" time I have been making my convention swaps (or on SCS talking about my convention swaps). In my sleep I have been dreaming about swaps. At work I have been thinking about swaps, so basically, the last few weeks my life has been consumed with swaps! For my SBS sisters, I'm sorry I haven't been visiting your blogs lately, but I promise to catch up with you all after convention!!! For anyone who has visited my blog recently hoping for some updates, I'm sorry, but please check back later this week, I am going to set blogger to update my blog every day while I'm at convention and there will be some blog candy involved as a thank you for continuing to visit while I've been busy with my swaps!!! Disclaimer: I have never scheduled posts before, so if for some reason it doesn't work, I will get them all posted when I return, but I think its pretty simple, so unless blogger has a problem, they should be here.

So how about a sneak peak of one of my swaps? On the last night of convention I going travel back in time to the 80s, how cool is that? RockyMountainStamper on SCS organized 2 great parties (one on Friday Night and one on Saturday Night). And since Stampin' Up! is celebrating 20 years, we are going back 20 years to the 80s. Part of that nights events is doing a shoebox swap with about 11 people. This is the swap I designed for it. I tried to make it as simple as possible, since I have to pack all the supplies to make it, I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Here is what I used: Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red(new In Color), Tangerine Tango (new In Color), Whisper White; Ink: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango; Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Twill Tape, Vintage Brads, Tag Punch; Stamps: Fall Flair, Sincere Salutations, Twill Background.

OK, I"ll be setting up my posts for Wednesday, July 30th through Saturday, August 2nd. Blog Candy will be mention on one of those days, but you have to check back and see which day! Mwahahaha!!
